The course
This is the big one: 7,105 metres of Gary Player championship golf in a volcanic bowl, walked rather than driven, and the annual stage for the Nedbank Golf Challenge.
Kikuyu fairways, tiered bentgrass greens and a closing stretch that has decided tournaments for four decades. Play it off the right tees and it is one of the great rounds in the southern hemisphere.
Signature hole
9th — a long par 4 to an island green in front of the clubhouse amphitheatre
Wildlife
Set inside the Pilanesberg volcanic crater complex — warthog and antelope on the estate, Big Five game drives a short transfer away.
Reviews
What our golfers said
“You feel the history walking up the 18th. Long, demanding, beautifully presented — the closest thing to playing a tour event that most of us will get.”
“Brutal off the back tees and we loved every minute. Take a caddie, they know exactly where not to hit it.”
“Superb condition and a proper test. Warm up properly, it is a big walk in the heat.”
