The course
Nine holes cut out of the Lowveld bush on the banks of the Sabie River, laid out in 1972 for the rangers and staff who lived at Skukuza. There is no fence and there never has been.
Warthog graze the greens at first light, impala drift across the fairways, and the local rules genuinely cover what to do when a hippo occupies your line. Late afternoon is the tee time to want: the bush goes quiet, the light goes gold, and hyena start calling somewhere past the ninth.
